This book is the second in the series and they do need to be read in order. Jan is a psychic who can talk to ghosts, is half fae, and if that wasn't enough, her Mom hexed her with a baby demon in 1815, giving her immortality. Demons by nature feed on death, strong emotions and chaos. Jan has raised her demon to feed off of sexual energy and the magical blast from a ghost crossing over. She tries to be bland, blend in at all times, and emotionless. She tries to teach her demon the 9 virtues and to avoid the deadly sins, especially murder.In book one you meet some of her work and police human friends. You meet the alpha of the werewolves who she becomes mated to. You also meet a 2,000+ year old vampire who hunts demons. Interesting stories come from all of these people as a murderer is hunted down.
In this story her inner "beings" grow, her relationship undergoes a lot of challenges, and all the people from the first book have a new mystery to solve, as someone has kidnapped 15 related psychics & thousands, maybe millions of ghosts.

Oh my....SO fabulous!!! Loved every second of both book 1 and 2, and can't wait for 3. Nikki Sex is a very gifted writer and all of her books are fabulous!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!
Nikki does it again in Demon Lost.
Jan wants nothing more than to release the collar she has on Stafford and Leo, but she doesn't even come close.

I picked this up reading book one and I'm so glad I did. I read it in one sitting! Thoroughly addicting and hot, hot, hot. Everything you could want from a PNR.
Sexy paranormal series with a fantastic plot! As good as Sherrilyn Kenyon or any author of the genre!
Can she get any better? I adore Nikki Sex and everything she writes. This book is full of surprises, and just such a great story. Talk about being torn between right and wrong. I love the main character, she's full of spunk and sass! Loved every word written.
Demon Lost continues the exciting plot from Demon Blessed, so if you haven't read that first I'd highly recommend it! Book one had me invested in Jan (and her inner friend), and this book really helps to build up the supporting characters, who I've grown quite fond of as well. Their subplots are actually fairly interesting taken on their own, but I think that they contribute to the main story in a meaningful way, making them more like main characters to me. I continue to be surprised by the different twists this story is taking; nothing is overly predictable despite containing the usual paranormal cast of vampires, shifters, and ghosts.
I did take a star off of this one simply for editorial reasons. The edition that I read was simply riddled with typos, excessive overuse of specific adjectives, and a sentence that actually stopped half way through the paragraph. I really liked the story, but all of the flaws were distracting.
OMFG, DEMON LOST (and Demon Blessed) are now my all time favorites from this author!!! And having read all of Nikki's other books, which are all my fav's, as well...that's saying a lot. Wish I could give it ten stars!! The intense intrigue, mystery and evil magic in the world of paranormals puts Janice St. John and her demon on the brink of death, with the end of the world dependent on whether she, and her inner friend, lives or dies. It's a raging battle of good versus evil, between vampires, werewolves and demons. With Jan right in the middle of it. Not telling who wins, but you won't want to miss it!! And it's not one of those books without a satisfying ending. Oh, and speaking of satisfying...it has spine-tingling HOT, HOT SEX, enough to melt your panties! Deeeeliciously devilish!!!
